thank you very much for your compliments and the bug report – especially the zip – it helps a lot this time I think. There are some questions left atm so please could you provide the output of xplanetFX run in a terminal (simply type xplanetFX, let it run and cancel with ^C), perhaps upped on dropbox.com or comparable – that would be of great help.

My compliments on a great application – I use it under Arch Linux and it easily solves my problem of having to find an imaginative wallpaper for each desktop.

I notice that on my Gentoo system the clouds don’t properly render. I’m using:

- The latest rolling release of Gentoo
- ImageMagick 6.7.5 (perl support is enabled, also tried 6.7.4.10)
- xplanet 1.2.2
- libwww-perl 6.30.0
- pygtk 2.24.0-r2
- xplanetFX 2.4.5

All tested aspects of the application work perfectly except that the clouds don’t render on the globe. They fetch from the web and are also mapped onto the globe in black and white in an intermediate stage of the process, but the final image doesn’t include them and I can’t figure out why for the life of me.

Ich habe nun dein Projekt auf meiner Fc16 Maschiene wieder am laufen. Es läuft perfekt, bis auf eine kleine Nebensache.

Wenn ich im Tab “Ansicht” meinen Aufenthaltsort in der Karte einrichten will bzw speichere muss ich extrem rechts wählen (fast in Japan) um Europa zu sehen.

Nach einem reboot allerdings zeigt mir der Screen Amerika. Wie ich dieses Problem lösen könnte is mir persönlich ein Rätsel, aber ev hast Du eine Möglichkeit.

thank you very much for your comment! I will copy your solution to the known issues section until I found a way to fix it in the software. I think this could save a lot of headache and time fo some of the xfce/xplanetFX users.
